About our Cleaning Kits

Milling Equipment Kit For Sewer and Drains

If your drill has a Slip Clutch (Torque Control), and variable speed, you can connect an adaptor to your drill chuck which allows you to attach a flexible shaft.

Mount one of our adjustable drain cleaning chains to the end of the flexible shaft, and you can obliterate stoppages like roots, lime scale, tuberculation and even solid cement at the rate of 1 meter in 30 seconds.

Some chains are made for descaling pipes, whilst others are made for grinding and cutting. We also have chains that are designed to clean scale from PVC pipes, or pipes work on pipes which have been damaged.

The chains are made from Stainless steel to prevent oxidation and offer low radial backlash. The chains with "teeth" are made with alloy metal bits which are fused to the stainless steel links with our hallmark fusion process developed in Finland.

Our flexible shafts come in sizes ranging from 6mm (1/4") , 8mm (5/16"),10mm (3/8") or 12mm (1/2″) and attach to the corresponding rotator shaft adapter using set screws.

Benefits of a flexible shaft, and how it compliments your current equipment

We are not saying that you should replace your jetting machine, or rooting equipment and only use a flex shaft. A jetting machine can clear roots, cement, tuberculation and limescale, but if you have a flexible shaft available when you come across stubborn blockages, you will save hours of time, and many liters of water.

  • Now there is no need to remove a toilet pan before you gain access to the sewer system, because the flexible shaft is housed in a protective sleeve which protects the porcelain, at the same time as it protects your hands.
  • The chains clear the entire inner circumference of a pipe, and reinstate the pipe to its original inner diameter.
  • The flex shaft can remove tuberculation, lime scale, urine scale, and even cement within seconds, as opposed to the time it would take to do the same task with a jetting machine or rooter.
  • In areas where water is a scarce resource, the flex shaft is the perfect tool for removing blockages, because it does not need water to perform.
  • In areas where ice freezes the pipes, the jetting machine needs special attention, whereas the flexible shaft with a drill head will turn your ice into slush which is easier to remove.
  • The equipment is compact, so it can easily fit in a car boot, or transported in an elevator to work on pipes in high-rise buildings, or other difficult to reach locations.
  • Since the shaft is contained in a housing (Sleeve), you could use a drain inspection camera simultaneously to see your progress in real time.
  • The best part is that the shafts require very little maintenance, and unlike a rooter, or jetting machine the flex shaft is not affected by vibration.
  • In areas where noise and fumes are to be kept to a minimum, the flexible shaft kit is the perfect choice.
  • The fact that the flex shaft is housed in a protective sleeve, is of great benefit from a safety perspective, as you would not need thick uncomfortable gloves to protect your hands from the spring coil.
The best part is the cost.

How many call outs will it take before this equipment has paid for itself? How many call backs could be avoided by having a flexible shaft in your van?

If you consider the time this equipment will save when clearing lime scale or tuberculation, or getting out troublesome blockages, you will probably agree that this tool is a very good investment.

Need advice on choosing the right kit for your needs?

Get in touch with us and let us know the following information, and we will be happy to guide you.

  • On average, how many bends are in the pipes you are working in? This will determine the diameter of the shaft. A thinner shaft will navigate through more bends than a thicker shaft, but a thicker shaft will deliver more power to the cutting chains)
  • Are you looking to remove blockages, descale pipes or both? This will determine which chains you need. In the event that you would like to do both blockage removal and descaling, we will make up a custom kit for you.
  • What kind of pipes are you working with? (PVC (ABS) - cast iron - vitrified clay pipes - brass - cement - fiber-crete ) This will determine whether you should choose a chai with hard metal bits or if a standard chain will be more suitable.
  • The average distance between access points. This will determine the length of the shaft. We recommend the shortest possible shaft, as this has an impact on the shaft performance.
  • What is the RPM, and torque capacity of your drill? This gives us a better idea of the what you plan to use as a power source, so that we can be sure that your drill will deliver the performance you are looking for.
